welcome from

Who would have thought that following that great night and win over Hungary back in November 2019 that it would be 10 months before we would play our next match?!

We should be looking back on the Euros and ahead to the World Cup. However, we still have the Euros to look ahead to and to focus on next year.

Before looking ahead to the match against Bulgaria, I would like to first of all like to pay respect and say thank you to the fantastic work of the NHS during the COVID-19 pandemic and of course for the work that they and many others continue to do .The last few months have certainly given everyone a sense of perspective.

Obviously, we have been very aware of the guidelines and the sensible protocols we as a group have to follow in the build up to the opening matches in the UEFA Nations League.

For myself as a coach I am delighted to be out there on the pitch working with the players once again .While wanting to win the group I will also take the opportunity to have a look at some of the younger players who are now challenging for places in the squad. On this occasion the likes of Neco Williams and Ben Cabango fully deserve their chance and I am sure they will benefit from working alongside the likes of Ashley Williams and Chris Gunter.

The game against Bulgaria will be played behind closed doors. There is no doubt we will miss the noise, the passion and the backing of The Red Wall. The players and the staff certainly benefit from the inspiration provided by the singing of Hen Wlad fy Nhadau.

Hopefully it will not be too long before we are in a position to welcome you all back into the stadium.

In the meantime, stay safe and be sensible during these uncertain times.

Diolch,

Ryan
